DigitalTown Announces Alliance with Portage Interactive

(Minneapolis, MN) Tuesday, February 2, 2009 - DigitalTown Inc. (OTCBB: DGTW.OB) today announced an alliance with Portage Interactive (Minneapolis, MN) and it's two executives Mike Palmquist and Larry Phenow on educational and web design for DigitalTown's community portal.

"Portage Interactive has a 10 year history of developing award-winning educational and creativity programs, websites, and systems for schools and families" states Jan Andersen, CEO DigitalTown.

Mike Palmquist is Portage's President and Creative Director. Prior to founding Portage Interactive, Mike was the executive producer for the design of over a dozen retail programs for MECC (Minnesota Educational Computing Consortium) and the Learning Company. Prior to MECC, he held several software design positions and was the Director of Courses for the ELS Language Centers which provides intensive language training for international adults. He has a M.Ed. from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a BA from St. Olaf College.

Larry Phenow is Vice President and Technology Director. Prior to founding Portage Interactive, Larry was the Director of Media Productions at MECC and the Learning Company. He composed, scored, and recorded the sound tracks for many of their retail products and directed the video production for all of the Trails products (Oregon, Amazon, and Road Adventures) for The Learning Company. As a software designer for MECC, he created many successful and award-winning educational products. Prior to that, Larry was a public school teacher and has a BA from Hamline University and graduate work in the Curriculum and Instructional Systems program at the University of Minnesota.
